A call is going out to the Body of Christ, a call to prayer. Like never before the rallying cry for prayer is heard in our churches and in our hearts. There is a growing need in our world for prayer in faith and agreement. As our lives become more hectic, new ways are needed to draw us together in unity. Intercessors are needed to lift the needs of the world to God in prayer on an ongoing basis. While we may not be able to travel to the ends of the earth ourselves, we can reach them with prayer.

We were commanded by Christ to show His love to the world and how better than to care enough to take time to pray for the needs of others. As the scripture says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16 (KJV). When we join our faith and prayers with believers around the globe, we can change the world for Christ. Through prayer we can fight for the oppressed in other nations, break the bonds of hurt, fear, and frustration that bind those around us, and strengthen our brothers and sisters as they face trials of their faith. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;” 2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV).

As a T.L. Lowery Prayer Center member I solemnly accept my call to active duty in the Prayer Force:

• I will spend time daily in the Word and in prayer.
• I will live righteously so that the fruit of the Spirit can be manifest in me.
• I will joyfully worship God and witness of the resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
• I will intercede for those held captive in darkness and deception.
• I will pray for Christ’s church everywhere.
• I will faithfully lift Him up now and forever.
